Another hill station that will make your fantasy of living on the snow-capped Alps slopes come true is Patnitop. This lovely village, which lies close to the Chenab River, captures the distinct ambience of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas. Previously, Patnitop was called “Patan da Talab,” which translates to “Pond of the Princess.” It was said to be the princesses’ bathing place. This is the ideal place to enjoy activities like skiing and trekking if you’re an avid sportsman.

Principal Attractions

At 2024 meters above sea level, discovering stunning plateaus and thick forests is a major lure for travelers from all over the world. The mountains and Chenab River formed the Chenab Basin, which is a popular tourist destination. In the winter, a thick covering of snow covers the area. Saffron fields and chinar gardens offer a picture-perfect perspective of sublimely beautiful nature.

At Patnitop, visitors can enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, and paragliding. The ideal trekking path in the Jangal Gali area is the Sundarani-Jungal Gali-Jasarkote-Sanasar route. In addition, Patnitop’s 9-hole golf course draws visitors during the summer.

You can also go to the sacred site of Sudh Mahadev, which is close to Patnitop. The Buddha Amarnath Temple, Vaishno Devi Temple, Naag Temple, and Bahu Fort & Temple are a few more sacred sites close to Patnitop.
